Hi friends, Have you worried about lost of your Android Smartphone or have you fear that what happened if your Android device will be lost or stolen. Last month Google have announced new feature for Android named 'Android Device Manager'. By using ADM you can track your lost mobile's location. You can check the updated location of your device online. There are 2 options available on Android device manager,
1. Ring the device
2. Erase all data
You can ring the device to check wheather it's near to you or not. When you click to 'Ring' your device will be ring even if its on silent mode. To turn ringing off you have to press 'Power key' of the device. The device will be ringing up to 5 minutes if you don't stop it manually. If you are sure that your device is lost or stolen and you have fear of your important data will be missussed then don't worry. Google have given 'Erase all data' option on Android Device Manager.
How to Setup Android Device Manager Security :
1. To activate 'Android Device Manager' just open 'Android Settings' app from your app drawer.
2. Now click to 'Android Device Manager'.
3. Now mark 'Remotely locate this device' to enable your handset location on Android Device Managers map online.
4. To enable online factory reset of your device if its stolen or lost just mark 'Allow remote factory reset' now Activate 'Android Device Manager' with 'Administrator'.
5. Or you can give Android Device Manager 'Administrator Rights' from 'Setting' then 'Security' and then select 'Device Administrators'. Now choose 'Android Device Manager' and click to 'Activate'
Congrats your ADM setup is now complete. To check it online just log on to
www.google.Com/android/devicemanger
log in with your gmail ID & password
Now you can either ring your device or factory reset it if it will be stolen or lost.
When you log in to ADM you can see the last location of your device and you can see the map also. Refresh it to get latest location update of the phone. I have added screenshots of all the options. If you still have any queries then tell me in comments.
