Railway ticket Advance Booking Period (ABP) have reduced upto 60 days.

     From 1 May 2013 the railway ticket advance booking period have reduced from four months to two months. Indian railway have declared that all booking done up to 30 April 2013 under existing advance reservation period of 120 days will remain intact.

     A senior railway officer said, "The reduction of Advance Reservation Period to 60 days will be deterrent for touts who  book bulk tickets in advance. We hope that reduction of booking period will help genuine travellers.

     It has been found that peoples book their ticket before 2 months of date of journey. To decrease the no. of cancellation railway have already Increased cancellation charges up to 50 Rs.
