Brief History Of Android Versions From Cupcake To KitKat

     Android  operating system is today most popular mobile OS in the world. The word Android means A lot present light tech world. Android Incorporation was founded in Palo alto, California, United states in October 2003 by Andy Rubin (Co-founder of Danger), Rich miner (Co-founder of Wildfire Communications.) Google took over Android Incorporation in August 2005. All employees and key executives transferred to Google after acquisition. Andy Rubin and his team was worked hard to create a mobile operating system based on Linux kernel. On 5 November 2007 Android was unveiled and open handset alliance (OHA) formed. The first Android smartphone was announced by HTC. HTC dream was the first Android smartphone. Here I am describing all Android operating system versions with their features. Google named all their OS versions code-names after desert.


Android 1.0 :
                    On 12 November 2007 Android SDK was released On 23 September 2008 android 1.0 released. HTC Dream was the first Android phone. At that time Android was new for casters. Android had attracted peoples by their features like YouTube app, Google Map, GPS and Android Market. On 9 Feb 2009 Google had released Android 1.1 update for phone.


Android 1.5 Cupcake:
                                   Android 1.5 Cupcake was released on 30 April 2009. Google was given dessert name to this version as `Cupcake`. This version have-many features like On-screen key board with text prediction. This OS had ability to upload Images, Videos easily to Picasa web album & YouTube. It also had ability of animation on screen transition.




Android 1.6 Donut :
                               Android 1.6 Donut was released on 15 September 2009. In this OS many features had undated. In added support for larger screen size. In this OS camera features was updated. This OS was launched with Google turn-by-turn navigation. This OS includes improved Voice search and text to speech engine VPN ( Virtual private network ) support and multitouch  gesture support were also important features.




Android 2.0 Eclair :
                               Android 2.0 Eclair was released on 26 October 2009, then on 3 December 2009 Android 2.0.1 update was released then on 12 Jan 2010 Android 2.1 was released this OS includes features like Virtual lay-board.




Android 2.2 Froyo :
                               Android 2.2 Froyo was released on 20 May 2010. This OS improved the speed. This OS was release with exiting new features Like Tethering and Wi-Fi Hotspot apability via USB connection. Froyo name is actually concentrated from `Frozen yogurt , but as it is a brand name so they given name `Froyo`. This OS including home-screen tips widget and multilingual keyboard support which allow user to select quick languages.



Android 2.3 Gingerbread :
                                          Android 2.3 Gingerbread was released on 6 December 2010 or 7 Dec 2010. On 7 December 2010 Google officially announced the Nexus S (Made by Samsung) to be released on T-Mobile as the 1st Gingerbread OS phone. This OS supports NFC wireless transaction capability, SIP internet calling. This OS comes with features like More then one camera support, Download Manager, One-touch word selection and copy, paste options. This OS had ability to stop applications manually. It supports Gravity, Rotation, Linear Acceleration, Gyroscope, Barometer. On 22 February 2011 Android 2.3.3 update was released.



Android 3.0 HoneyComb:
                                           Honeycomb was released on 22 February 2011. This OS was came with features like Bluetooth tethering which allows more more devices to share the network connection, Multicore processor support. This OS have important features of 2D and 3D Graphic support. This OS have improved keyboard with improved text selection and copy, paste options. On 10 May 2011 Android 3.1 update was released with features like resizable home screen widgets, wi-fi and connection stability improved. Apps like Calender, Contacts, Gallery were improved. On 18 July 2011 Google had launched Android 3.2 update. This OS remains for Tablets only.



Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sand witch:
                                                          ICS was released on 19 October 2011. Ics is a layer of ice cream which is sandwiched between two chocolate cookies and it has rectangular shape. This OS includes features like Quick response to call, Face unlock, Recent Apps Selection, Wi-Fi direct support.




Android 4.1 Jelly Bean:
                                       Jelly Bean was released on 9 July 2012. This OS includes important features like Google Wallet, USB audio, Improved voice search, Instant review of photos and Adaptive keyboard. On 29 December Google had released Android 4.2 update with features like Beam photos and videos, Built-In keyboard Gesture, Multiple users for tablets.



Android 4.2 Jelly Bean:
Android 4.2 Jelly Bean was launched on 13 November 2012.
Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is full of new features such as Settings shortcut in navigation bar,improved photo editing,new lock screen widgets such as gmail and calender preview. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes with new screensaver feature named Daydreams by Google. This screensavers activated while charging the device or docked. Photosphere is also new feature of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which allows user to take 360 degree paranomic photos.



Android 4.3 Jelly Bean:
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean was launched  on 24th July 2013 with new amazing tablet Google Nexus 7. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean comes with all new major updates. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean have features  like Restricted Profiles,Quick and powerful notifications. Bluetooth Smart Ready option, Dialpad Auto Complete and Hindi & Other languages. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean enables "Scanning Always Available" in settings. You can scan your location even if your WiFi and GPS is off.




Android 4.4 KitKat:
Google surprisingly released it's brand new codename based os Android 4.4 KitKat. KitKat is a sweet Candy Bar and everyone knows the taste of it. Android 4.4 KitKat have made for everyone. Kitkat can run easily on 512MB RAM devices. Kitkat includes features like Immersive mode, Full screen Album Art, OK Google voice command, sMs in Hangout support, Emoji keybord and more.
