This model is presented to public in spring of 2009, and that is a long time ago. But this model still holds good position on the market of basic models with touchscreen. Samsung S5230 review will present you this model with all advantages and disadvantages. We can say that Samsung S5230 was great mobile phone in 2009, but it can still run the market race, but in the middle class phones. You may know this model under name S5230 Star, GT-s5230 or Tocco lite, as Samsung calls it. This is very light model with 93 g, and with dimensions of 104 x 53 x 11.9 mm that is very nice in your hand. It is available in wide range of colors: black, pink, black gold, la fleur, Hello Kitty, and white. On the right side there are camera button and Lock button, on the left side are volume buttons and slot for SIM card and handset. Samsung´s star measures almost the same size, weight, functionality and general specifications like the LG Cookie KP500, but looks more shiny and polished. It is on the compact size and carrying it around in your pocket feels as if it´s not actually there. The phone sports 3-inch display with 240x400 pixel resolution and 262k colors that manages to deliver proper image quality in artificial lighting conditions, just as most other screens featuring similar specs do. Situation gets much worse in direct sunlight though with the phone turning into immaculate mirror, just like the Cookie. Come to sensitivity, the resistive display of the Samsung S5230 seems to be a step behind what it arch rival delivers, yet as a whole it doesn´t fare bad at all. The Star offers a basic touchscreen package with little to no access to top-of-the-line technology. It still knows a trick or two though and is keen to treat the masses to Smart Unlock. It was initially dubbed Gesture lock but in the end Samsung went for Smart instead. This feature lets users unlock the S5230 Star and even launch apps by drawing a letter on the screen. It can be any letter: U to unlock the device, B to launch the browser, J to run your favorite Java app. It's a nifty trick that adds a little speed and spice when working with the device.
