Gmail Provides us best security options to Protect our account from Hacking
To Setup Security Options just go to
accounts.google.com/servicelogin

Now enter your gmail id and Password
Here you can change your gmail account Password.
Click to "Change Password"
Now type your old password then write your new password twice and finally submit it

To change your other security options click to "Change Recovery Options"

*Recovery mail:
Add here your secondary email adress. It will help you to receive password reset link in case of hacking or if you forget password

*sms:
Add your mobile number to your account. When your account hacked by someone or you forget password that time password reset code will sent to your Mobile number

*Security Question:
Add security question and answer for your identity and it will help you to recover your account
