Micromax to launch Octa core phone early 2014

Micromax has always packed amazing features in its smartphones at an affordable price. And thats the biggest reason for the popularity of the company. With the Canvas 4  and Canvas Turbo Micromax offered a phone with just not great specs at great price but also innovative intuitive gesture controls
, like waving the hand over the phone to unlock it, Blow to unlock, answering a call simply by placing the phone on your ear, flip to silence,etc.

And now Micromax is supposedly planning to launch an Octa-core smartphone early next year according to MMXNewscaster. Most probably it will be the Mediatek's True octa core processor.

This is not the first time we have heard about this news. Previously leaked Canvas 5 specifications also pointed the same.

LEAKED : Micromax Canvas 5 full Specifications

It seems that its not just Canvas Turbo and Canvas Magnus that Micromax is going to realease this festive season, there is one more device coming, Micromax Canvas 5. It is most probably coming in November end as we heard before.
Canvas 4 offered many premium features which were found in only high end smartphones at a low price and has been very popular smartphone.
Canvas 5 is also expected to be filled with more such innovative features and even more gestures which are the result of Micromax's alliance with Cube 26.

According to the rumours in the technology market the upcoming Canvas 5 will be featuring waterproof and dustresistant (IP55/IP58) durable design and is expected to pack a MediaTek Octa-core processor which MediaTek comfirmed is in works.

Also the rumours point to 4GB for RAM (I doubt that!) along with 32GB of internal memory, expandable upto 64 GB via Micro-SD card. Other expected features include Android Jelly Bean 4.3 OS, 5 inch display, 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera 4G connectivity ( Micromax is working with Reliance Jio ) , Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, microUSB, 3.5mm audio jack.
However these features have been comfirmed officially by Micromax and there is also no official word about pricing.

Micromax Canvas 5 release date and Price

This flagship device is expected to launch in the November, most probably last week and shold be priced around 20,000INR to 21,000INR.

Micromax's next flagship,Canvas 5 coming in November

Micromax is supposedly planning to release its next flagship smartphone in November end. Micromax plans to overtake Samsung at the top smartphone vendor in India in Q4. The company ruled 22 percent Indian smartphone market in Q2 2013 and 18.8 percent in Q1 2013, whilst Samsung had 26 percent share in Q2.


Co-founder and Business Director of Micromax, Vikas Jain in an interview with Light Reading India said,

We have been rolling out new devices in India. We will be coming with something interesting in the coming two months.

Upcoming flagship device is expected to have NFC and 4G LTE support. Micromax Canvas 4 which was launched in July grew very popular and still now it is in huge demand. We are now seeing new releases from Micromax nearly every week. Some newly released smartphones are : Canvas Fun A76, Canvas Fun A63, Canvas Fun A74, Canvas Ego A113 and Bolt A40. It looks like Micromax is all set to achieve top spot in Indian smartphone market.
Also speaking to Light Reading India, Jain said that if there is demand then Micromax is may also release devices that run Firefox OS or Windows Phone.

Expected price of Micromax Canvas 5

As you can infer from the previous launches of Micromax with every big launch Micromax increases the price range of its products like it did with Canvas HD, then Canvas 4 and Canvas Doodle 2. Hence Micromax Canvas 5 will of-cource be superior than Canvas 4 and we can expect Micromax Canvas 5 to cost around ₹.20,000. And may go even upto ₹21,000. But higher than that cannot be expected.
